How to Make Cold Brew Coffee
It’s no secret that we love our coffee here at Bean Box. We’re constantly brewing up new pots and trying out different brewing methods to get the perfect cup of joe. One method we’ve been experimenting with lately is cold brew coffee.
Cold brew is a bit different than your typical iced coffee because it uses colder water to extract the coffee grounds, resulting in a less acidic and smoother cup of coffee. If you’re looking to try your hand at cold brew, here’s a quick guide on how to make cold brew coffee at home. What You Need:
-1/2 pound of coarsely ground coffee beans -6 cups of filtered water -A large pitcher or jar
-A cheesecloth or fine mesh strainer Instructions: 1) Combine ground coffee and water in your pitcher or jar, stirring gently to make sure all the grounds are saturated.
Cover and let sit overnight (8-12 hours) in the fridge. 2) In the morning, give the mixture a final stir then place your cheesecloth over the top of your container and secure with a rubber band. Slowly pour mixture over the cheesecloth, allowing it to filter through into another bowl or carafe below.
Discard leftover grinds. 3) To serve, mix concentrate with an equal part of water or milk over ice.
Heating Up Cold Brew Reddit
As the weather gets colder, coffee lovers everywhere are looking for ways to enjoy their favorite beverage without having to brave the elements. Enter cold brew coffee. Cold brew is made by steeping coffee grounds in room temperature or cold water for 12 hours or more, resulting in a concentrate that can be stored in the fridge and diluted with milk or water as desired.
While cold brew generally takes longer to make than other methods of brewing coffee, many people find that it’s worth the wait, as it produces a smoother, less acidic cup of coffee. Plus, since you can make a big batch at once and store it in the fridge, it’s perfect for those who like to have their coffee ready to go at all times. If you’re interested in making your own cold brew at home, there are a few things you’ll need to get started.
First, you’ll need coarsely ground coffee – regular ground coffee will be too fine and will result in an overly strong concentrate. Second, you’ll need a large container for brewing – anything from a pitcher to a mason jar will work. Finally, you’ll need some sort of filter – cheesecloth or a reusable metal filter are both good options.
Once you’ve gathered your supplies, making cold brew is easy! Simply combine your grounds and water in your chosen container and stir gently to combine. Then cover the mixture with your filter of choice and let it steep overnight (or for at least 12 hours).
In the morning (or after 12 hours), remove the filter and give the mixture a final stir before transferring it to an airtight container and storing it in the fridge. To serve, dilute with milk or water to taste – start with 1 part concentrate to 3 parts liquid and adjust as desired. Enjoy!

Can You Heat Up Cold Coffee
If you’re like me, you’ve had your fair share of cold coffee. Whether it’s left over from the pot you made this morning, or from yesterday’s iced coffee that didn’t quite get finished, there are times when reheating cold coffee is necessary. But can you actually heat up cold coffee without ruining the flavor?
The answer is yes! There are a few different ways to reheat cold coffee so that it tastes just as good as when it was first brewed. One way to reheat cold coffee is to pour it into a saucepan and heat it on low heat until it reaches the desired temperature.
This method works best if the coffee is only mildly cold – if it’s been in the fridge for a while, you may want to give it a quick blast in the microwave first to take the chill off. Another way to reheat cold coffee is by using a French press. Simply put your cold coffee into the French press, add hot water (just off the boil), stir, then press down on the plunger slowly until all of the liquid has been forced through.
This method works best with fresh, room-temperature coffee – if your coffee is very cold or has been in the fridge for awhile, you may want to warm it up in the microwave first before using this method. Finally, my personal favorite way to reheat cold coffee is by using an immersion blender. To do this, simply put yourcoldcoffee into a tall cup or jar and blend on high speed for 30-60 seconds until piping hot.

Hot Cold Brew Coffee
It’s no secret that we love coffee here at the office. We start each morning with a cup (or two) and keep the caffeine flowing all day long. But lately, we’ve been branching out and trying new brewing methods.
And one of our favorites is cold brew coffee. Cold brew coffee is made by steeping coarsely ground beans in cold water for an extended period of time, typically 12 hours or more. The result is a coffee concentrate that can be diluted with water or milk and served over ice.
The key to making a good cold brew is using the right ratio of coffee to water. We like to use a 1:8 ratio of coffee to water, which yields a concentrate that can be diluted to taste. For example, if you start with 1 cup (8 ounces) of coffee, you’ll end up with 8 cups (64 ounces) of cold brew concentrate.
Once you’ve brewed your concentrate, it will keep in the fridge for up to two weeks. When you’re ready for a cup, simply combine equal parts concentrate and water (or milk) over ice and enjoy!
Can You Just Heat Up Cold Brew Coffee?
Yes, you can heat up cold brew coffee. Cold brew coffee is brewed at a lower temperature than hotbrew coffee, so it will take longer to heat up. You can either put it in the microwave or on the stove.

Does Heating Up Cold Brew Coffee Make It Acidic?
No, heating up cold brew coffee does not make it acidic. Cold brew coffee is brewed at a lower temperature, which results in a less acidic cup of coffee.
